Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 19, 2026 | Last updated: October 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information High Frequency Facial (highfrequencyfacial.co) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@highfrequencyfacial.co.

The short version

  • We collect very little directly: comments you choose to post and emails you choose to send.
  • Our web host keeps standard server logs. If we use Google Analytics 4, it measures how the site is used.
  • We show, or plan to show, ads from Google AdSense and later other ad networks. These may use cookies, and in the UK and EU we ask for your consent first.
  • Some links are affiliate links. Retailers may set a cookie when you click, but we never receive buyers’ personal details.
  • Please do not share health details in comments or emails. We do not ask for them.
  • You have rights over your data, and you can contact us to use them.

Who we are

High Frequency Facial is an independent website about at-home high frequency skincare devices. It is run by an individual based in Pakistan, referred to in this policy as “the operator of this site”, “we” or “us”. Articles are published under the pen name Sam Rowan.

For the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, the operator of this site is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

Contact: hello@highfrequencyfacial.co

What we collect and why

When you visit the site

  • Server logs. Our website runs on WordPress and is hosted by a third-party web host. Like most hosts, it keeps server logs that record your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time of each request. These logs help deliver the site, keep it secure, and fix technical problems.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See the “Cookies and how to control them” section below.
  • Analytics data. See the “Analytics” section below.

When you leave a comment

Comments are moderated, which means we review them before they appear. When you comment, we collect:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your website (optional)
  • your comment text
  • your IP address and browser user agent string

We use this information to display your comment, moderate it, and help spot spam. Your email address is never published.

Gravatar. WordPress may create an anonymised string (called a hash) from your email address and send it to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a Gravatar profile image. If you do, your profile picture appears next to your published comment. Gravatar is run by Automattic, and its privacy policy applies.

Please do not post health details in comments. Published comments are public, show your name (and website, if you add one), and may be indexed by search engines. If a comment includes health details, we may remove those details or choose not to publish it.

When you email us

If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you use, and the content of your message. We use this only to reply to you.

When you click an affiliate link

When you click an affiliate link, the retailer may set a cookie on its own site to record that you came from us. We do not receive your name, address, payment details or any other personal details if you buy something. Retailers send us only aggregated reports, such as the number of clicks or items sold, so they can pay commissions.

We do not use your personal information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Legal bases under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA), data protection law requires a legal basis for each use of your personal information. We rely on:

  • Consent for analytics cookies, advertising cookies, and the optional cookies that remember your comment details. You can withdraw consent at any time (see the “Cookies and how to control them” section below). Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
  • Legitimate interests for running and securing the website, keeping server logs, moderating comments and preventing spam, displaying Gravatar images, replying to your emails, and understanding how the site appears in search results. Our interests are keeping the site working, safe and useful. We consider these uses expected and low impact, and you can object to them at any time.
  • Legal obligation where we need to keep or disclose information to comply with the law.

Health information (special category data)

Health information is “special category data” under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, and it gets extra protection. We do not seek it, and we ask you not to send it.

Because this site is about skincare, you may feel like sharing details about your skin. Please keep comments and emails general. If you do email us health details, we use them only to reply to you and then delete them. If a comment you submit includes health details, you can ask us to delete it at any time.

We do not build profiles about readers’ health. Please see the “Advertising” section below for how ad partners may make their own inferences and how to opt out.

Cookies and how to control them

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. “Similar technologies” include pixels, web beacons and local storage, which work in a similar way.

Embedded content cookies Services such as YouTube or Pinterest See the “Embedded content” section below Controlled through those services and your browser

How to control cookies

  • Consent banner. Where we show a cookie or privacy settings banner, you can accept, reject or change your choices there, and update them later through the cookie or privacy settings link on the site.
  • Your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies may stop some features, such as saved comment details, from working.
  • Google Analytics. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Google ads. You can manage ad personalisation in Google Ads Settings.
  • Other ad companies. You can opt out of interest-based ads from many companies through YourAdChoices (US) and Your Online Choices (UK and EU).

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics 4 to understand how readers use the site, for example which pages are read, how long visits last, what type of device is used, the approximate location (such as country or city), and how people found the site. If we do, this helps us decide what to write and fix pages that do not work well. Google says Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. In the UK and EEA, analytics cookies are set only with your consent.

We also use Google Search Console, which shows us aggregated information about how the site appears in Google Search, such as search terms and click counts. It does not identify individual visitors.

We use the Rank Math SEO plugin to manage page titles, sitemaps and similar search settings. It can show Search Console data inside our WordPress dashboard. We do not use it to identify visitors.

To learn more, read Google’s page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Advertising

We use, or plan to use, Google AdSense to show ads. Later we may also work with ad networks such as Journey by Mediavine or Raptive. When we add a new ad network, we will update this policy and name it.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

These ad providers and their partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and device identifiers to:

  • show ads, including personalised ads based on your visits to this and other websites
  • show non-personalised ads, which are based on general context such as the page you are reading and your approximate location (these may still use cookies for frequency capping, reporting and fraud prevention)
  • limit how often you see the same ad
  • measure how ads perform
  • detect and prevent fraud

Because this site is about skincare, an ad partner might infer an interest in skincare from your visit. You can limit this by rejecting advertising cookies or opting out of personalised ads.

Ad networks may use a consent management platform (a tool that asks for and records your cookie choices). In the UK, EEA and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalised advertising cookies are set. In the US, you can opt out as described in the “US state privacy rights (California and others)” section below.

For details on how Google uses this data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. To manage Google ad personalisation, visit Google Ads Settings.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy something through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Our affiliate partners include, or may include, Amazon Associates, Pure Daily Care / NuDerma (through the Awin network), Dermstore, SolaWave and others.

When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may set a cookie on its own site to track the referral. What happens on the retailer’s site is covered by that retailer’s privacy policy. We do not receive buyers’ personal details.

Embedded content

Some pages include content embedded from other websites, for example YouTube videos or Pinterest pins. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, add their own tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, especially if you are logged in to an account with them.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as needed with:

  • Our web host, which stores the website and keeps server logs.
  • Our email provider, which handles messages you send us.
  • Google, for Google Search Console and, when we use them, Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense.
  • Other advertising networks and their partners, once we use them.
  • Automattic (Gravatar), when your comment is checked for a profile image.
  • Affiliate partners and retailers, through cookies set on their own sites when you click a link.
  • Embedded content providers, such as YouTube or Pinterest, when you view their content here.
  • Authorities or others, if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or security of the site, its readers or others.
  • A new owner, if the website is sold or transferred, in which case your information would stay covered by a privacy policy at least as protective as this one.

International transfers

The operator of this site is based in Pakistan, and our service providers, including Google, may process data in the United States and other countries. This means your personal information may be processed outside your own country, including in Pakistan and the United States.

These countries may not have the same data protection laws as the UK or EU, and Pakistan does not have a UK or EU adequacy decision. To reduce risk, we keep the personal information we handle ourselves to a minimum (mainly comments and emails). Large providers such as Google state that they protect international transfers with safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and, where they are certified, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension.

How long we keep data

  • Comments: kept indefinitely so the conversation stays readable, unless you ask us to delete them. Comments we do not approve are deleted.
  • Comment cookies: one year, if you chose to save your details.
  • Emails: kept only as long as needed to deal with your message and any follow-up. Any health details are deleted once we have replied.
  • Server logs: kept according to our web host’s retention policy.
  • Analytics data: if we use Google Analytics 4, kept according to the data retention setting in that account, then deleted automatically. Summary reports may be kept longer.
  • Advertising data: kept according to each ad provider’s own retention policy.

Your rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR

If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Delete your information.
  • Restrict how we use your information.
  • Object to our use of your information based on legitimate interests.
  • Data portability, meaning you can receive information you gave us in a common, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
  • Complain to a data protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). In the EU, you can contact your local supervisory authority.

To use any of these rights, email hello@highfrequencyfacial.co. We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example by replying from the email address used for your comment. We aim to respond within one month, and there is normally no charge.

The data we hold directly is mostly comments and emails. If we use analytics or advertising tools, related data is held by Google and other providers. If your request involves them, we will help you reach the right place, and you can also contact those companies directly.

US state privacy rights (California and others)

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) gives you rights over your personal information. Residents of other US states with privacy laws, such as Colorado, Connecticut and Virginia, may have similar rights.

What we collect

In the last 12 months, the categories of personal information collected through the site may include:

  • Identifiers: name, email address and IP address (from comments, emails and server logs).
  • Internet or network activity: pages viewed, browser type and how you use the site (from server logs, analytics and ad cookies).
  • Approximate location: derived from your IP address.
  • Inferences: interests that ad partners may infer, such as an interest in skincare.
  • Content you provide: your comments and emails.

This information comes from you, your device, and, when we use them, our analytics and advertising partners. We use it for the purposes described in the “What we collect and why”, “Analytics” and “Advertising” sections above.

Sale and sharing

We do not sell personal information for money. However, when advertising cookies are used to show ads based on your activity across different websites, this may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law, or as a “sale” or “targeted advertising” under some other state laws.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose.
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, such as health data, and we do not use it to infer characteristics about you.
  • Non-discrimination. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

How to use your rights

  • To opt out of sale or sharing: reject advertising cookies using the cookie or privacy settings link on the site where it is shown, or email us. Where our consent tools support it, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out.
  • For all other requests: email hello@highfrequencyfacial.co with “Privacy request” in the subject line.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You can use an authorised agent, who will need your signed permission. We aim to respond within 45 days. If you live in a state that gives you the right to appeal our decision, reply to our response with “Appeal” in the subject line.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the UK and EU, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, email hello@highfrequencyfacial.co and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we handle, such as keeping WordPress and its plugins updated and limiting access to the site’s admin area. No website or internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects you and the law requires it, we will tell you and the relevant authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when we add a new ad network or tool. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will also add a notice on the site.

How to contact us

For any question about this policy or your personal information, email:
