The content on High Frequency Facial (highfrequencyfacial.co) is general information about at-home cosmetic devices. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified health professional.
Who writes the content
Articles are written under the byline Sam Rowan, a pen name for a skincare enthusiast and writer. Sam is not a doctor, dermatologist, nurse or esthetician. No content on this site has been medically reviewed unless a page clearly names a real, credentialed reviewer.
Cosmetic, not medical
Home high frequency wands are marketed for cosmetic use. We describe how they may help the look of skin, separate brand claims from published research, and say plainly where evidence is limited. We do not claim that any device cures, treats or prevents any condition.
Who should not use a high frequency wand
Do not use a high frequency wand if you:
- have a pacemaker or any implanted electronic device
- are pregnant
- have epilepsy or a heart condition
- have metal implants, or dermal fillers or other injectables, in or near the area you want to use it on
Do not use it on broken, irritated, infected or inflamed skin, and never near alcohol-based or flammable products, because the wand can spark. Always follow your device manual, including its age guidance. If you are not sure whether a high frequency wand is safe for you, ask your doctor before using one.
See a professional
For persistent acne, rosacea, skin infections, hair loss, unusual moles or any other skin condition, see a board-certified dermatologist or your doctor. Do not delay or replace medical care because of something you read here.
Stop if something goes wrong
Stop using the device and seek medical help if you notice burns, blistering, a strong reaction or anything that worries you. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
Results vary
Skin responds differently from person to person. We cannot promise any particular result, and nothing on this site is a guarantee.
